July 4th ILSA Appreciation Day/ Log Championships
Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:17 am by Admin
We've been involved with Strongman in one way or another since 1996 and have come across many, many wonderful individuals; athletes, staff, and fans alike, that have been instrumental in helping the sport grow in Illinois and Midwest in general.
What I would like to do, and have discussed this with the wife, is to set aside this July 4th as the date for an Illinois Strongman picnic. Nothing...

PowerCorps Challenge Updates
Wed May 27, 2009 11:55 pm by Utter Weakling
Byron's meet will be held June 20th - deadline is the 6th.

A few updates:

1: Yoke walk will not be man vs. man - it will be with separate weight classes simultaneously. Yoke weights may change.

2.The stone in the medley is a Husafel-type steel implement - not really a stone exactly. The weights will be reduced - I get the feeling people are turned off...

ILSM 09'......
Sun Jan 25, 2009 3:45 am by Admin
The fair Board is 90% sure they will be able to offer at least $200.00 to the top spot from each wt class (200, 231, 265, 266+).

As of right now we have "0" signed up however i most likely will limit the number of athletes for each wt class to 10 (40 total).

I'll add more info as ot comes in.

Illinois Log Lift Championships
Mon Jan 12, 2009 4:17 am by Admin
What would you guys think of having a Log Lift Championships similar to what the IFSA had? Just with wt classes.
Most likely wouldn't be sanctioned by NAS but would be a part of our ILSA Series and be eligible for State Records.

Circle City Strongest Man
Sun Jan 04, 2009 3:01 am by Admin
I know the Circle City Strongest Man contest is in Indiana however anyone thinking of competing is welcome to stop by and train here.
I'll be making a go at it and am trying to convince a guy at work to give it a shot.
I've never really trained with anyone who was going to the same meet. Should be fun.

June challenge.....
Fri May 01, 2009 2:34 pm by david escalante
I am doing this one! Went to jakked today. Did the yoke.....got humbled by the yoke......stupid yoke!
My ankle was the least of my problems. I have not had more than 200 pounds on my back in over 1 1/2 years.
Quite the shock to the body(went up to 600) looking forward to the pain I am pretty sure my back is going to be in tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing everybody.
