TEEN NATIONALS

First off. This was one of the most poorly run show I've ever competed in. Dont get me wrong, I had a good time, got some new pr's, everything is good. ut the judging was very inconsistant and just overall poorly run. On the axle deadlift on tires, plates were falling off because instead of putting collars on the ends of the axle, they had VELCRO STRAPS. We had a rules meeting where the rules were clearly stated, the promoter insisted that judging would be very strict. But even though we (teen lw's) always had the same judge, they would be very lenient on some and very strict on form with others. I ended up with 7th place I think. And I'm not complaining because of that or saying I got 7th because of the judges, cause thats definately not the case. I just expected it to be run more professionally than it was.

***Log Press-
190Xreps

I got one rep with zero warmup whatsoever. As soon as I got there they started the competition and didnt have anything to warm up on.

***Axle deadlift-
it was supposed to be 400 but we had 405-410ish. no biggie

8 reps for me

***Tire flip-
450X100ft 60sec time limit

This tire had NO tread lol. It wasnt too bad though I finished in the middle of the pack with 51-52 sec I think

**Farmers walk-100ft w/ turn NO DROPS
it was supposed to be 210 but we ended up with 230ish. Hardly anyone finished. I was dumb and grabbed too far back on the handles so the farmers were sinking in front the whole time. I dropped them RIGHT before the finish line but still pulled third place in that event.

Stones-
it was supposed to be 220 for reps but we had a 240. It was a 16inch though and my first time loading a little one like that. I dont understand how I only got one rep. I'm just so used to an 18 inch now that it just threw me off having a little one.

I'm not sure when Ill start training again. maybe middle of this week.

At least you went, competed, and see how you stack up against the nations best, no matter how poorly the event was ran, if you gave a good effort, be happy, nice job and keep training hard, I look at your log frequently.

Ditto on what Chris said.

It happens, even at open Nationals. I helped one year and the farmers implements they were using were falling apart, Atlas stones were chipping away, a sponsor had given the promoter a number of t-shirts to hand out for free to the athletes and crowd however the promoter and his wife(?) sold the free t-shirts and used the money to get smashed with during the meet.
