there is no way you lost strength from a little rest time.
chalk it up to a bad day in the gym.

start your next periodization cycle now, based on your maxes at the meet.
I would start with 75% for sets of 5 with BP, SQ, and DL. That weight should be an effort but doable.

don't beat yourself up about 1 bad day. we all have them.
Remember to just try to make small progressions. Even an extra set of spring lock collars on the bar is progress. you don't need to go up 5 pounds every workout to feel good about it.

I have 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1 1/4 plates for just this purpose

Like Craig said, everyone has a bad day every once in while. Don't beat yourself up over it.
Just start back into to it light.

Burned out from the meet? If you think lifting in a Push/ Pull meet is rough what are you going to do after a 5 event gut busting strongman meet?

If you want to compete in the September Challenge I will do what I can to help prepare you.

Thats what I was thinking today tony. When I went in and started rushing my rest periods from 5 minutes down to 2-3 I was like woah.

I am planning on doing it. I just want to besure I am ready and will be able to do it ok. I just dont want to bomb on out everything. I will be clearning my schedual for saterday training as soon as I can.

Ill just take it as a bad day and hit events on sunday at the gym this week. Then see what I can do about freeing up my saterdays.

It's natural to feel worn out a few days after a meet. The length of time to recover depends on some various factors. Each person is different.

In your case, it was most likely the maxes and low reps to prepare for the power meet and the stress of doing the power meet, which can wear out your cns a bit.
Plus, it may also be the meds your on. These may be making it difficult to fully recover. I'd look into asking your doctor.

Also, dropping the rest periods from 5 minutes to 2 to 3 is big jump, especially if your not used to it. Just lighten the load a bit

The only thing I can think of with meds is my thyroid is failing. The warning signs were all there last month. But the level didnt start droping yet. I see the endo on the 14th. So hopefully we can figure out if that has anything to do wih it. The other meds I have been on them a bit now so I shouldn't be showing any odd sides to it. Actually my nervous system should be better as I am on less CNS suprsive meds. I am not sure if it is the thyroid as I'm not having any weight gain yet. Who knows though. Lucky part he may also give me HRT. My test levels last time were 405 he says at my age they should be 800-900. That was good news.

Just start out light. Nothing serious. Just a few sets of light wts for each lift.

If you wish to compete in the September Challenge, I can make up a sample routine for you.
What sort of strongman equipment do you have access to at the gym?

Tony

Yes, however I'll let you pay twice as much so the results will come twice as fast. lol!

The reason I asked about equipment was because if you have access to certian things I would be able to include those lifts throughout the week, not just Saturdays.

if you are charging for saterdays, at the current time I will not be able to come out. I have way to many expences at this time for school to afford another one sadly.

I am actaully not sure what I am going to do for training for right now. I have felt so warn down this week and I think its cause my thyroid is really starting to go now.

$10 is too much? For the amount of time it takes for one session I am getting less than minimum wage, hahahahaha. All of which is going towards the new training facility.

I know Tony it is definitly a great deal, but at the current time money is really tight for me. Especially with what is going on with my health, work is getting cut down to less hours than normal. I am going to see what I can do about getting more money, but at the current time any extra expence is just to much. I have even cut out going out to once every 2 weeks.

Hopefully very soon I can get enough money to start comming out.

went in to to try and train monday and tuesday strength is majorly down another sign of hypothyroidism. See the doc on friday thank God. Hopefully he'll give me synythroid but it will take some time to kick in. barley eating anything now and still gaining weight.

Need to prioritize and drop all all this extra weight up 20lbs now in about 14 days.

THe blood tests came back normal, BUT the doctors feel something was screwed up in the blood test so we are doing them again. He said just focus on trying to drop weight and hopefully it can make some small impact to minimize the gain that I am recieving. His hands are tied until my levels show it so hopefully next blood test shows it.

Just trying to get by training. Motivation is so not there right now.
