An hour and fifteen minutes of rugby conditioning. Felt fast and in decent shape tonight. I am surprised how good I feel with taking an entire week off from everythign beign sick last week, but maybe my body just needed a recovery week.

I had rugby conditioning tonight. I also got back on a diet today. I need to start working on my appearance more along with my performance because I had a meeting with a new fitness consulting company in Milwaukee that wants me to be a sponsored athlete. It will be nice to have some money and services offset some expenses that I incur, and it will also be nice having some professional advice regarding my diet. So thats a little extra motivation for me not to be a fatty.

An hour and fifteen minutes of rugby conditioning. We basically did the same workout that we did the first day and during that first day I was ready to have a stroke and today I felt fit. I still have about a week or so left until I will be in my top shape but I am close. I am starting to get excited and shifting from strongman mode to rugby mode because we have a good shot at winning nationals this spring.

An hour of rugby conditioning tonight. Summerfest events got posted tonight and I am excited: Load Medley- keg, sandbag, i beam Frame Carry- 700x60' Press Medley- 160 circus db, 315 log, 345 axle Flip Medley- 2x800 lb tire, 1x finger Stones- 240,285,315,345,375,410 all to 45" It will be an intense show, but I think with 4 months left of prep I can do very well. I am very confident with the load medley, frame, and flip medley. The press medley will be easy once I get my log form down and learn how to clean a fixed axle and the stones are gettign better every time I do them. I am not going to specifically train for this show until rugby is over and just work on my base strength until then. I got my new diet made up for me with a sweet tracking program that is pretty complicated so once I figure it out I will be tracking everything I do and put into my body from now until Summerfest.

How are you going to lose 50 pounds though? I thought you were just going to be a HW anyway.

I am going to cut one of my legs off... I weigh 270-275 right now and feel pretty good. My game plan is not to lose 40 lbs because I don't have to. I am going to slowly lose weight until I get to 255-260 and stay there being as lean as I possibly can in that weight range. The goal is to weigh 255 a week before the show being between 12 and 14% bodyfat which is optimal for performance. I do not want to get below that because there are alot of studies that show that trying to go too low sacrifices muscle. So once I am 255 at 12% I will do a water load and cut like I have for every show since my first one. For Chicago's SM last year I weighed 255-260 the day before weigh ins, made weight, and then competed at 260. For Central I weighed 250-255 the day before weigh ins, made weight, and competed at 245-250. I made a few mistakes during the process for Central and it greatly affected me. That is why I need to take a more disciplined aproach this time. Starting this morning I will be tracking absolutely everything as far as activity, weight, measurements, food, mood, and external factors. Then I will be taking this data and using it to adjust my diet every so often. Since Summerfest is a qualifier for pro nats I may compete at that when I win, but other than that I will be a hw because thats where the fun is. Now before people say I am cocky for sayign when I win, I beleive you become what you think about so I think about winning not possibly winning.

You have a big advantage being able to train with the promoter. I believe that he made the pressing weights heavy because he is used to training with you and knows what you can do as a LW. Knowing the tire and finger will make that event good for you too. Now just get really good at stones and you're on your way.
