Is it true that the date is going to change? I need to know soon because im coming from Maryland to compete in this and i dont wanna come on the wrong day because that would just absolutely suck balls. and are the events changing?

As of right now the date and events have not changed however I am waiting to here back from the NAS office about some details that may warrant us to move the contest and change some events.

I have not heard any news from the NAS office in about two weeks. Once I get the info needed I will post the update here on our forum and also the NAS forum, the Anvil.

For anyone signed up for the meet I will send the information out as soon as I get it myself.

September Challenge info

Dear Athlete,

As of right now the date for the September Challenge is set for September 19th. Recently the Manteno Chamber of Commerce has expressed interest in having our meet during their local festival on Sept. 26th.
I have contacted the NAS Office in St. Louis and asked if the date change would be granted. There may be a conflict with the date with other meets however still waiting to here back for a confirmation.

This is a heads up if the date change is granted the events may change somewhat to fit the new venue.
The current events are:
Log Medley
Farmers Carry
Tire Flip
Shot Putt
Atlas Stones

The new events are tentative and all depend on whether or not the Manteno Chamber of Commerce will sponsor us enough money to cover costs for a moving vehicle. The prospect looks good since they had granted the $$ last year.
The “new” tentative events look to be:
Log Press for reps
Farmers Carry
Tire Flip (if moving vehicle is provided)/ Alternate would be Arm over Arm Pull
Yoke or Truck Pull
Atlas Stones (if moving truck is provided)/ Alternate would be atlas lift for reps.

Once I find out for sure what we are able to do events wise and date wise I will post the information on a couple of web sites:

The September Challenge will take place on September 26th in Manteno, IL during their Oktoberfest (yes, I know Oktoberfests are in October, but not in Manteno, haha).
This weekend I will contact the athletes who have put their entry in.

The main reason for the delay on the finalized date was that we were waiting to here back from the NAS office for the date of NAS Nationals. The Dates for Nationals had been either Sept. 26th or Oct 10th.
Liuckily for us, it's Oct. 10/ 11

Tony, I won't make the september challenge becuase I will be doing the contest in Morton the following weekend. I've done shows back to back before and it sucks.Hope to see you on the 3rd..
