I would like to extend a global thanks myself to all the athletes who were in attendance, for varying reasons.

First to Keith for looking out for me with suggestion changing the rule on dropping the axle - your observant remarks on my behalf did not go unnoticed, and who knows - it may have saved me from a biceps injury.

Next to all the friendly competitors who represented what Illinois strongman is all about. My nice, old parents came from Boston to see this and in the past have been of two minds regarding this activity but after seeing it firsthand realize that it is not so bad or dangerous after all. That makes me feel better and allows me a clearer conscience to train and occasionally wreck myself.

Third, I would like to thank Tony for continuing to have the max DL, carry/flip and keg events in the May Challenge. I've been waiting a year to redeem myself during this competition - particularly with that last keg. One of my annual goals can now be crossed off that list.

I couldn't possibly think of many better hobbies than strength athletics the way it is right now.
