We've been involved with Strongman in one way or another since 1996 and have come across many, many wonderful individuals; athletes, staff, and fans alike, that have been instrumental in helping the sport grow in Illinois and Midwest in general.
What I would like to do, and have discussed this with the wife, is to set aside this July 4th as the date for an Illinois Strongman picnic. Nothing fancy, just hot dogs and chips, etc...

We'll still have the ILSA Log Championships. Originally the entry was $10 to help pay for shirts. What I would like to do is have the entry as FREE (sorry no shirt though) to any NAS member.

Along with this we can set up some events for a ILSM training day.

The picnic is open to anyone wishing to stop by. Only thing I ask is to let me know a number of days prior so we can get enough hot dogs, etc...

Few questions:

What is the latest we can sign up, I wana sign up but I have to besure everything is ok with my docs.
What is the starting weight of the log that we are using for weighing over 232 my stupid meds are making me hold a good amount of water and im not sure if I can weigh under 232.
If I wil probably only hit a 220 log is it stil worth going?
also will anyone be doing photos?

There isn't an entry fee. It's free. It does state it's $10 on the entry however I haven't had a chance to change it.

So far the July 4th thingy hasn't been too popular however you may sign up the day of.

We'll be using either the 12" (190) or 10" log (140).

ouch were starting with the 190lb log. I think I can get the log it self hahaha. I'll post up friday if I can go thats when I see the doc.

doc called and said everything is fine with my blood work so I'l be there on saterday. My mom and dad are comming as they want to watch.

Well, you are the only one that has confirmed to be here. We have had a number of guys tell me it was a good idea however they have other plans that day.

So with much thought I have decided to cancel the Log Championships/ Appreatiation Day.
I had hoped for a number of people to participate however I understand that the July 4th weekend is fairly busy for everyone.

So just stay home and enjoy the Holiday with the family.
