What would you guys think of having a Log Lift Championships similar to what the IFSA had? Just with wt classes. Most likely wouldn't be sanctioned by NAS but would be a part of our ILSA Series and be eligible for State Records. Tony

Whats a log lift championship? I get VS but they only play 07 from Iceland. I would love to see some big numbers get put up. 350 + would be awesome! I doubt with my 255, I would take part though. Shon

Shon, Why should the "pros" have all the fun! The concept is simple: have a day later in the year where we can hold a Log Press meet (similar to a Bench only meet) and see who in Illinois and surrounding areas has the best log press. All wt classes/ divisions would be eligible. I believe the IFSA had a Pro Log Championships a few months ago. Zydrunas Zavickas pressed a whopping 440. WOOF! If I decide to do it I'd like to have it part of a festival. I may just do it the weekend of the St. Anne Pumpkin Festival, hahaha. Nick, Welcome aboard!! Thanks, if you or anyone else has any ideas or suggestions I'd love to hear them. Thanks, Tony

If you had a max axle i would love to come down and put on a good show, but my log sucks so i would just embarrass myself in a log lift contest.

Let's do it in Chicago city so that we can get all the heavies from WI to come down and make it a real spectacle. I'm in if my f'ing shoulder ever starts working again for more than a day at a time.

I think that this is a GREAT idea! I'm in, just try and make it after August, so if I end up not sucking at powerlifting this year, I can qualify for the meets I want to. I would like to get an idea on the log size, so I can work in some practice now (once boo-boo shoulder feels better...). Womens Nats last year used a 12" log, but I guess we just need to use what you have. I know we have a 10" and a 12" at Jakked... maybe an 8" too. I agree with Chicago area... obviously. LOL.

Thats a cool idea. I would do it..... but my beastly 180 log press would scare off all of the competitors.

Thanks for the input guys. hahaha. When I get a chance I'll get a hold of Jason Bever to see if he has any ideas for venues, possibly even St. Tiribius. I'll most likely will throw the idea to Willie to see what he thinks. I'm not sure if it would be a quailifier for nationals however it would be good for Illinois Records at the very least. Log sizes most likely would be 12".

Looks like July 4th in Watseka, IL. Most likely will not be sanctioned by NAS. Have not heard back from them and it's been a couple of weeks. Waiting to hear back from the sponsor as well. It will be eligible for State records though. Once I make up the entry I'll let everyone know. Thanks, Tony

why does NAS not want to sanction it? Just wondering, not like I have a stellar log press and I will be up in Canada anyway. But I would think a log lift championship would be a good thing for everyone involved, including NAS

Craig, I had contacted the NAS office about it and have yet to hear back from them as to confirm it or not. It's been over three weeks. July 4th apparantly has a number of meets going on that day. They'll most likely attend one of the meets versus a demo. Initially they were interested but wanted more events involved. Due to the time restraints given to us by the sponsor, I'm shooting for just the max log. Tony
